Menno Singers with the Menno Youth Ensemble

Join us at 1:30 pm for a “walk and sing” through locations in downtown Kitchener or come at 3:00 pm to St. Matthew’s for the concert.

We are partnering with The House of Friendship, Indwell, the 519 Community collective and other community organizations who are actively working to address homelessness, supportive housing, and affordable housing challenges in Kitchener, for this interactive event of singing and learning.

The day will begin at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church (54 Benton St) with a walk-and-sing, departing at 1:30pm. We will visit 4 downtown sites and cover about 3.5km to see where and how complex challenges are being addressed as we listen to representatives from our partner organizations, and respond in song.

At 3pm we will return to St. Matthew’s Lutheran church for a social-justice-themed concert featuring the Menno Singers and Menno Youth ensemble. At the interval there will be a chance to learn more about the partner organizations and their work in our community.  If you cannot come for the walk, feel free to join us at 3:00 for the concert.

In the case of rain, we will remain in the church sanctuary at 1:30 pm.

Along with being an awareness-building event, 100% of the proceeds for the event will go to the partner organizations, to continue their important work.
